HOW TO PLAY CHASE THE ACE

At 9:00 pm on the Draw Date, a deck of cards will be opened and the Ace of Spades will be shown to the crowd in attendance, then the deck of cards will be shuffled. The cards will be spread out face down on a clean table and mixed sufficiently in such a manner that no cards are completely overlapping any other cards and all cards are visible and available to be selected.

House rules and AGLC rules are to be displayed at all times during the selling of tickets and/or the drawing of tickets. Posting of the requirement to be in attendance on the applicable Draw Date is mandatory.

The person who is doing the draw and/or handling the cards must wear short sleeves or rolled up sleeves and show empty hands prior to reaching into the Draw Box. One ticket stub is drawn (the winning ticket) from the Draw Box.

The winner must claim his/her prize within 15 minutes of the draw.

If the winner is present, they will receive 20% of that week’s ticket sales proceeds, and the opportunity to Chase The Ace to win the Jackpot, which is 30% of that week’s ticket sales proceeds. The winner will issued a cheque for the jackpot on the following Monday.

To Chase The Ace: The weekly winner chooses a card from the spread out cards by placing a finger on the card they want to see turned over. In the event that two or more cards overlap, the winner must clearly indicate which card they want. All other cards are cleared away while the winner continues to hold their finger on the chosen card. The chosen card is then turned over and revealed to all.

If the chosen card is the Ace of Spades, the game is over and the winner receives both the 20% of that week’s ticket sales proceeds and the 30% of that week’s ticket sales proceeds, ie the Jackpot.

If the Ace of Spades is not turned over, the draw is over for that week. The turned over card is cut in half and remains in the safe control of the Raffle Chairperson. The 20% is paid in cash to the winner, and the 30% Jackpot is rolled over until the next Draw Date.

In the event that the winner is not present within 15 minutes of the winning ticket stub being drawn, no further ticket stubs will be drawn that Draw Date. The 20% will be rolled over with the remaining 30% Jackpot for the next Draw Date.

The Ace of Spades must be shown to still be in the deck at the conclusion of the draw and prize payout.

Ticket sales for the next Draw Date will begin at 7:30 PM on the next Draw Date.
